Power to the Streets | Amsterdam Netherlands

Part of the cultural LiteSide Festival is Power to the Streets. The inspirational Mohammed Ali (Aerosol Arabic / Sacred Graffiti) was flown in from the UK to lead this project. Using his designs the co-production with dutch graffiti artist Ronald Duikersloot created a warm fusion in Amsterdam. Mohammed inspires people by using a presentation where cultures and art all come together.

Four suburbs in Amsterdam were visited to create interaction with the teenagers in a ‘Focus area’ in Amsterdam North, a big mural in the streets @ Polderweg (Amsterdam East), a graffiti workshop with teenagers @ school in city centre / De Pijp and using the Graffiti Cube during Sloterplas Festival, in Amsterdam West.

AfrikaBurn 2013 + 2015| South Africa

Massive thx to: Charl & Tony (Buggalux founders), JP (2x), Luke (The fire specialist!), Liz (Director Afrika Burn), Egon (Burning T-Rex, Vlamstof Collective) and many many more… Bless you all!

Graffiti Revolution | Syria Egypt Libya Tunisia

Where dictators rule and in this case long term suppression of its people is the country policy, a revolution is bound to happen and waiting for it’s opportune moment. The first signals are generally seen in the streets with lyrics written in graffiti.

Graffiti artist Ronald Duikersloot was fascinated by this fact and in Dec 2010 the action one man, a man called Mohamed Bouazizi from Tunisia started to ignite the next phase and his action started the entire Arab Spring!

By that time artist Duikersloot started a global graffiti project to support the uprise of the people, launched a symbol called ‘The Fist’ to graffiti artist around the globe to paint it everywhere. The project continued on Facebook and so created a platform where these revolutionary graffiti can be seen and supported. Here there are some authentic work created for exhibitions and awareness. On the page ‘Graffiti Revolution’ on this website you will find graffiti murals and drawings from around the world. This is history in the make and it’s still an ongoing process so please support them on Facebook.com/GraffitiRevolution

Naankuse | Namibia

Naankuse Foundation or in Xhosa the Bushmen would say N/a’an ku sê (covered in clicks and clacks) was founded by Marlice van Vuuren and Dr Rudy. This fantastic project is located an hour inland from Windhoek, Namibia. It’s a orphanage for wildlife and primary school for the Bushmen children. Graffiti artist Ronald Duikersloot went volunteering together with John Evers (Co-Founder of I-Jolly) and they got more then they bargained for.

Working with cheetahs, baboons, lions, meerkats, wild dogs and most bizarre the adult leopards. Ombeli and Shakira were amazing and because of a mural with the paint that was available they became a lifelong adoption parent.

Taragalte Festival | Sahara Marocco

Once every year something special emerge deep down in in Morocco, the Sahara desert to be more precise. This meeting place in the desert is the place where berbers, nomads and various north / central African musicians come together and play surrounded by the mystic of the natural oasis around, Taragalte.org.

Spray Art, artist Ronald Duikersloot was invited. During his journey over the beautiful Atlas mountains he decided to make a statement about pollution since there is rubbish everywhere. He mad a painting African style, with minimal material and where tools are limited he created something unique.

Painting Désert Propre
The first day the Sahara desert was painted and with help from the kids including the camels. Second day a huge Coca Cola can stuck out of the sand which people thought was very odd. And the third day of the festival he collected the rubbish from the floor, cut the canvas open and pushed the plastic in the painted sand, waving the plastic in the wind and calling the chaos Désert Propre (clean desert). People got fascinated and at first especially the youngsters were very interested in the painting few days later large groups were standing around and discussing the topic, it was a direct hit! BULLSEYE!
